Logistical update
If your application to attend has been accepted, you will have received email confirmation. You can download the programme here.
There are a few things we need to remind you to ensure that the seminar runs smoothly:
In keeping with the environmental concerns that have influenced our themes for the seminar we will not be providing disposal crockery and cutlery. We need you to please bring your own plate, cup (for tea and coffee as well as for juice), bowl, knife, fork and dishtowel if possible. It may also be helpful to put these into a portable bag, to be kept with you during the seminar.
More important details after the jump.
Please note that the bungalows do not lock so it is not advisable to bring valuables. There are plugpoints available if you need to charge your cellphone or camera but please be vigilant in this regard and all possessions are brought onto the site at your own risk. All food and accommodation is provided for so there is no need to bring cash with you.
Things to remember to bring along:
- Sleeping bag
- Pillow
- Torch
- Raincoats/ general clothing in case of rain
- A warm top for the evenings as it does get cold
If you are fasting please let our caterers know on thomasreisenberger@gmail.com so that provisions can be made for breakfast and also for something to break the fast in the evenings – there will be a prayer room, but we will not provide prayer mats.
We will meet at UCT outside the Kramer building and UWC outside the library, at 9am on the 4th, for transport to the site in busses, if you wish to take your own car please let us know on gabirichards01@gmail.com so that we can make directions available to you.
Please direct any further enquiries to gabirichards01@gmail.com or
Dmitri Hess at UWC on 082 733 5000
Emma Holtmann at UCT on 083 456 7247
We look forward to a fun and informative weekend!
